It's been an average week of reading. Only 4 books completed this week. I'll never get to my 2011 goal of 200 books unless something amazing happens. I've read about 150 a year for the last few years, and decided to try for 200 in 2011. I'm so far behind, only read about 76 so far for the year.... It COULD still happen, though - hopefully.

First completed book was Hearts on a String by Kris Radish. This one was hard to get into. It seemed to me like a different writer wrote the last half of the book - the first half was choppy and almost made me give up reading it. Story was of woman form different lives meeting, living i close quarters and forming a friendship. This version has some of the same cliches as other books dealing with woman friendship. I did not enjoy this book and do not recommend it.

The 2nd book was a free download for my Kindle - and I'm glad it was free! The Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook Presents 10 Summertime Treats by Dinah Bucholy was definitely not worth spending money on. Butterbeer recipes are everywhere on the net, and included in the original book by the same author. I'm sure I could figure out butterscotch floats and slushies using these recipes as a base without needing new recipes for them. Likewise with the ice cream recipes - plenty of ice cream recipes around to make chocolate or strawberry! And I definitely don't need a book to figure out how to make ice cream sundaes!

Third this week was The Widower's Two Step by Rick Riordan.  I stumbled across this series wen looking author up to see what else besides the Percy Jackson series he had written. I discovered a whole world of books written for adults - the world of PI Tres Naverre. This one was as interesting as the rest. It started with the murder of someone Tres was following and follows a twisty path through the local country music scene to international smuggling rings. Definitely recommend to any mystery fan!

My last book for the week was disappointing as well. One Reckless Summer by Toni Blake as easy to read, contained lots of sex and short on plot, believable character and anything else that makes a good read. There was potential to build a few characters, but fell short on delivery.
